The Anglia Petanque Association is the responsible body for the sport of Petanque in the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk and is one of fifteen regions in England affiliated to the English Petanque Association
Petanque or as it is sometimes known 'Boule' can trace it's origins back to the Ancient greeks and the Romans, the Greeks played with round stones and the Romans with wooden balls covered in iron.
The modern game of Petanque evolved from the game of 'jeu provencal' in the early 1900's. It is a game that can be played by all ages and juniors and adults of both sexes can compete on equal terms

Players must ensure that they bring their licences with them to ALL Anglia Championships as the Regional Umpire will check each players licence at registration. This is a ruling from the EPA National Umpire.
(This ruling does not apply to the Gin Trap Charity Pairs or the Fixed Coche Events which are open competitions)
